The New Life
2011
Synopsis
Laura is pregnant but doesn´t want to have that child. Juan, her veterinarian husband, on the other hand, does want to have it. Laura seems obsessed with the piano lessons she teaches Sol, a young disciple in which she has deposited secret expectations: perhaps to see her career spark as -which she herself resigned- or even the possibility of leaving a village that suffocates her.
Upon this disagreement they often fight and many times Laura ends up wandering around town, and her husband tirelessly looking for her with his truck.
One of these nights Juan runs into a fight of teenage boys and tries to pull them apart. He doesn´t succeed, and the fight ends up with a guy dying in his arms. The young assailant, another teenager, the son of a powerful man, recommends Juan to hide the truth. He agrees to do so to protect Laura, but the incident has unexpected consequences and ramifications that will make Laura face her past and finally her destiny.
