Synopsis
Elena (Graciela Borges) is a renowned documentary filmmaker happily married to Augusto, a musician of the same age with whom she didn´t have any children.
One morning Elena receives an anonymous call: Augusto had a stroke and was taken to the hospital. Accompanied by her friend and assistant Esther (Rita Cortese), Elena discovers that the person who drove Augusto to hospital is Adela (Valeria Bertuccelli), a young woman in her thirties who happens to be his lover. Elena not only has to endure such a revelation, but on the brink of death, her husband asks her to look after Adela.
Elena goes through the grieving process with fury and pain. A few days after her husband´s death, Adela shows up at her doorstep trying to establish a relationship which Elena initially rejects.
In desperation, Adela attempts suicide but survives. Elena, cornered by her promise to her busband, decides to take her in until she recovers.
The difference in their personalities, their way of coping with grief and the forced cohabitation sets them against each other time and again. Reluctantly, they must face the common mourning process and learn to get along with each other not only as the widows of the same man, but also as the two great women they are.
