love and other stories
2014
Synopsis
Why doesn´t life work like movies?! Pablo Diuk (Ernesto Alterio), an Argentinian writer hired to write a romantic comedy to be filmed in Spain, but whose love life is an actual disaster, asks himself this question.
In the midst of a creative crisis and of a separation, Pablo starts to develop the storyline between his central characters. Víctor (Quim Gutiérrez) and Marina (Marta Etura) are two young madrileños that have everything going on for a perfect romantic comedy: they are single, good looking and are deeply attracted to each other. But they also have a serious problem: their maker, the writer of their story, and his tremendous sentimental crisis.
Starting from there, the action develops in two parallel storylines: one in Madrid, the other one in Buenos Aires; one with characters that fight against the spirit of their maker, and the other with Pablo trying to use fiction as a reckoning, as a safe place, knowing that the best answer to feeling defeated in his daily life is imagination.
